About Us

Scotch Pines Dog Training, Specializing in Off-Leash Obedience, was started by Will and Vivian Stoppel in 1993. They lived on Scotch Pines road in Payette, Idaho. Their daughter, April Stoppel, is the current owner of what is now the largest dog training school in Idaho, and is one of the largest in the nation.

We enjoy tremendous support from veterenarians, law enforcement officials, and humane societies. Twenty years of experience and over 1,000 dogs trained annually gives us the opportunity to work with all breeds and personalities.

About Stephanie & Belle

The love of a dog is one of life's sweetest treasures.

I come from a long line of dog lovers, so when I got Belle at 8 weeks old, it was easy to love her! However, as she grew, it became apparent to me that teaching her to obey did not happen easily. I needed help! I tried my best; I read books, and I even took her to a class that trained with food treats. Somehow, we were still struggling. Oh, I was still crazy about her, but no one else enjoyed her, because even though she was cute, soft, sweet, smart, and loveable, she was OUT OF CONTROL!

Thankfully, a friend told me about Scotch Pines Dog Training, Specializing in Off-Leash Obedience. We took the class when she turned one, and I was AMAZED! The class is designed for all people who love their dogs. The method of correction and praise works, and the class provided the tools necessary to teach me and my dog!

She is now 10 years old, and we have been off-leash since we graduated! Belle had a litter of puppies and I encouraged all the families to take the class. I went through it with most of them, since I gave the puppies to family and friends -- people I know and love. What a delight it has been to witness the bond of love grow through the process of training.

I was so impressed with this training program, I inquired about employment with them. It is a great privilege and honor for me to be a franchisee/owner of this incredible program. I introduced this training course to the Twin Falls, ID area in January of 2010, and expanded to the Anchorage, AK area in 2012. I am eager to continue to make tails wag for many years to come!

Helping people who love their dogs is a pure joy for me! Please email me if you have any questions. We are looking forward to meeting both of you!

Wagging our tails,

S&B
